This is a fantastic contemporary piece. To me, it represents the emerging of new beginnings and new life in spring. The focal bead is fantastic - it makes me think of a butterfly pupa and some fantastic, stunning butterfly is about to emerge at any point! It is lampwork glass, handmade in the UK by a SRA. The colours in it are wonderful - swirls of moss green, purples, blues and everything in between.
I have combined it with semi-precious beads and silver, both which come naturally from the earth, continuing the theme of the piece. The necklace is clear quartz chips and the centre part is made up of faceted tourmaline and iolite discs. The gemstones I use are all of high grade and completely natural - not dyed or heat treated.
The necklace is 17.5" long and is finished with a contemporary Karen Silver toggle clasp.
